Build Your Financial Knowledge
With The Money Smart Program

Financial education gives people power to control their lives and their futures. The more they know about credit and banking services, the more likely they are to increase savings, buy homes, and improve their financial health and well-being.

That's why The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) created Money Smart, a training program to help adults outside the financial mainstream enhance their money skills and create positive banking relationships.

The Money Smart curriculum helps individuals build financial knowledge, develop financial confidence, and use banking services effectively.

Course topics include:
Services banks offer
Bank customer rights and responsibilities
Checking accounts
Savings plans and spending budgets
Managing money with a personal budget
How credit works
Using credit cards
Finding the best loan rates and terms
Buying a home

You can take the course at your own pace by requsting a CD at any Bank of Oak Ridge office or by visiting the FDIC Money Smart website here.
