Meet our Board of Directors

Thomas W. Wayne
Board Chair, Board of Directors
Mr. Wayne is the Chief Executive Officer and Board Chair of the Company and has more than 35 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry. He earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Accounting from Appalachian State University and University of North Carolina at Greensboro (“UNCG”), respectively, and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He is a North Carolina Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Wayne is a graduate of and was a long-time faculty member and board member for the North Carolina School of Banking program offered by the North Carolina Bankers Association. He has also served as an adjunct faculty for undergraduate and master’s level classes at UNCG’s Bryan School of Business and Economics. He currently serves as the Chair and an Advisory Council Member for the Master of Business Administration program at UNCG’s Bryan School of Business and Economics. He is also founder and current board member of Buffalo Creek Running Company, a nonprofit organization.

Dr. Douglas G. Boike
Vice Chair & Lead Director, Board of Directors
Dr. Boike is the President of Triad Consulting, Inc., a management consulting firm. Prior to joining Triad Consulting, Inc. in 1999, Dr. Boike was the Vice President, Planning and Development at B/E Aerospace, Inc., an aerospace equipment manufacturer. Prior to joining B/E Aerospace, Inc., he was a senior partner at Mercer Management Consulting and Booz-Allen & Hamilton. He has over 20 years of experience serving as a bank director and has served as Chair of the Bank Board for 24 years. Dr. Boike earned a Ph.D. degree in Engineering Science from Dartmouth College and is a graduate of the North Carolina Bank Directors’ College (the “Directors’ College”). Dr. Boike is past Chair of the Greensboro Symphony Board and is currently Chair of the North Carolina Brass Band board.
Lynda J. Anderson
Member, Board of Directors
Ms. Anderson is the owner of Triad Real Estate Today and is its certified relocation director. Previously, Ms. Anderson was with Allen-Tate, a real estate firm, where she served as a realtor and the branch manager. She has over 20 years of experience serving as a bank director. She is a graduate of the Directors’ College. Ms. Anderson earned an Associate degree in Education from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado and is a graduate of the International Management Academy in San Diego, California.
Darryl K. Jones
Member, Board of Directors
Mr. Jones is the Director of Systems and Operations at Winston-Salem State University, where he leads efforts to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen institutional systems, and improve service delivery. Previously, he served as Chief Information Officer for the City of Greensboro, overseeing the city’s technology infrastructure and directing major projects. He has more than 35 years of leadership and management experience, with expertise in enterprise systems, data governance, risk management, and digital transformation. Mr. Jones also served on the Board of Directors of the City of Greensboro Credit Union for four years. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Management Information Systems, from Winston-Salem State University.
Denise L. McNeil
Member, Board of Directors
Mrs. McNeil is the Founder/President of Harper McNeil, Inc., a technology solutions consultancy firm for financial institutions. She has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, both as an internal auditor and technology consultant. Mrs. McNeil has partnered with hundreds of financial institutions across the U.S. with up to $20 billion in assets to help them grow through the use of technology solutions. She and the Harper McNeil team were integral in the Bank’s successful system conversion to Fiserv DNA in 2019. Mrs. McNeil earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Appalachian State University. She continues to be active in financial institution FinTech and promotes the Entrepreneur Program at Appalachian State University through teaching and programs.
Dr. John S. Olmsted, DDS, MS
Member, Board of Directors
Dr. Olmsted is a past President of Olmsted, Torney, Mohorn, Mohorn, Morgan, Baird and Stanley, DDS, PA, a large group endodontic practice, now Piedmont Endodontics. He is President of John S. Olmsted, DDS, MS, PLLC, which provides “Excellence in Endodontic Education”. John has presented over 690 days of lectures, seminars, workshops, traveling to all 50 states and 64 countries. Dr. John Olmsted is an adjunct professor of Endodontics at UNC Chapel Hill and the University of Iowa. He is a Director of Eastern Dental Insurance Company. Dr. Olmsted has 25 years of experience serving as a bank director. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa and a Master of Science degree in Endodontics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Olmsted is a graduate of the NCBA Directors’ College.
Robert Pompey, Jr.
Member, Board of Directors
Mr. Pompey is the Chancellor for Business and Finance at North Carolina A&T State University (“NC A&T”). He oversees the University’s operating budget and financial operations, university physical facilities, police and public safety, campus enterprise operations and human resources. Prior to his role at NC A&T, he served as the Associate Controller at Wake Forest University for nearly ten years. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from NC A&T and a Master of Business Administration degree from Wake Forest University. He is a North Carolina Certified Public Accountant and currently serves on the board of directors for Gateway Research Park and Say Yes to Education.
L. William Vasaly III
Member, Board of Directors
Mr. Vasaly is the Bank’s former Chief Credit Officer and Executive Vice President, retiring from the role after 19 years of service at the end of 2018. He continues to serve as Chairman of the Loan Committee. Mr. Vasaly has over 40 years of experience in the banking industry. He previously spent 14 years with Wachovia Bank and Trust, NA and ten years with Salem Trust Bank (and its successor, Central Carolina Bank) in a variety of production and managerial roles prior to joining the Bank. Mr. Vasaly earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Virginia Tech University.
Jimmy R. Westmoreland Jr., PE
Member, Board of Directors
Mr. Westmoreland is the owner and managing member of Westmoreland Strategic Enterprises, LLC. He has more than 35 years of public, private, and non-profit sector experience in municipal/state government, transportation, and university research park leadership, operations, project/policy development, and funding. During his career, he has served as the Interim Executive Director of Gateway Research Park, Inc., City Manager of the City of Greensboro, and Deputy Secretary of Transportation for the State of North Carolina. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and is a registered professional engineer. Mr. Westmoreland is an advisory council member for the Institute for Transportation Research and Education at North Carolina State University. He also serves locally on both the Greensboro Science Center and Greensboro Police Foundation boards.
